Where our students go

Every year we are impressed by the resilience, integrity and dignity of our Year 13. We are really pleased that year on year the vast majority of our A Level 3 students can progress to their chosen destination pathways. This reflects their hard work over the two years of their courses,

Many of our students go to university to study sought-after courses including Law, Biomedical Science, Classical Civilisation, Zoology and Forensic Science.

A selection of our success stories in 2020 can be seen below:

Sarah aspires to be an English teacher. She achieved exceptional results in English Literature (B), Sociology (B) and Religious Studies (B). She plans to study English at Kings College London next year.
“My advice for the future students of Crest academy would be make sure you balance study Like any other school, these two years were undoubtedly intense and hard. However, having such supportive teachers at Crest who pushed you to your limits made all possible whilst ensuring we had a good time. One piece of advice I would give would be to build good relationships with your teachers”.

Maryam – who joined The Crest Academy in Year 7, aspires to be a Barrister. She achieved exceptional results in English Literature (B) and History (B). She plans to study English Literature at Queen Mary’s University of London before doing a Law conversation course.

“Studying at Crest taught me the importance of self-empowerment and independence as a tool to overcome academic hurdles. I am grateful for the supportive staff who always made themselves available to help me achieve my grades, and constantly reminded me what I can do. I look forward to embarking a new chapter at Queen Mary University with these skills which I have acquired during my time at the Crest Academy and Sixth form.

Hifzah who achieved a grade an B in Psychology, an A in English Literature as well as an A grade in Sociology, is looking forward to taking up a degree in Law next year at City, University of London. On receiving her results, she said:

“My time at the Crest Academy sixth form was amazing. All my subject teachers including sixth form staff have been incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. Alongside my academic achievements through the extracurricular activities I have had the chance to grow as an individual. I am thankful for my teachers that have challenged me to do the best of my ability.”

As well as the individual successes at A Level, Crest Sixth Form’s BTEC students also achieved some outstanding results, but particularly 100% of students achieving a Distinction in Applied Science (Extended Diploma) and 100% of Health and Social Care students achieved Distinction * – Merit grades.

Loubna performed exceptionally well in Applied Science, achieving a triple Distinction*. She aspires to be a Physiotherapist and will be studying Sport and Exercise Medical Sciences at King’s College London. She attributes her success to the faith and belief that The Crest Academy showed in her following disappointing GCSE results.

“In the Sixth Form at Crest you receive so much careers advice and information about university. I found External speakers were particularly interesting and helpful, and once I knew what I wanted to do the school did everything they could to support me.”
