Academy Leagues Game: E-ACT Crest Academy vs. Harris Academy

7 October 2021

 Academy Leagues Game

The Crest Academy had a great start for their first home game in the academy basketball league on Wednesday evening defeating Harris Academy 101-40.

The intensity of the game was high from the very beginning with Crest Academy, with key defensive plays made by Liam that allowed the Crest boys to get out in Transition. The gap in the scoring then began to extend in the first half when Omon and 2006 born Derelle started to make big plays on the offensive end. The second half saw an even bigger increase in the lead as Crest boys started moving the ball led by Captain Liam. Daniel and Luai  became major offensive threats in the second half to secure the victory for The Crest Academy.

Quote – from coach
“This was a game of high energy and intensity and I personally believe the game was won from the warm up”. We watched film and reviewed our performance from our last game where we were flat from the warm up and did not display much togetherness, but we learnt from it and had a much better attitude going into this game” said head coach Kelson Dickson.

“Credit to Harris academy who did not stop competing and making adjustments despite being so far behind. However, it just turned out to be a very positive performance from Crest Academy where they played together and stuck to the game plan.

Daniel finished with 22, Derelle had 18, and Omon had 17 for Crest Academy, whilst Teo led for Harris academy with 15.
The Crest Academy will look to build upon this positive performance on Wednesday 13th of October away against Northolt High School whilst Harris will take on Ealing, Hammersmith and West London.
