Meet our headteacher

Welcome to the Crest Academy. We are a non-denominational, non-selective academy open to girls and boys from all backgrounds aged 11 to 18. We are proud to be a part of the E-ACT network of schools. Our beautiful building, state of the art facilities and outstanding educational resources provide exceptional opportunities for students. In addition we have spacious, modern classrooms, laboratories, workshops and studios and 2 full sized sports halls with additional outdoor facilities.

As the newly appointed Acting Headteacher I would like to introduce myself and welcome you to the Crest Academy. Mr. Ojja, who successfully led the school to success has taken a role as a Regional Director with E-Act and therefore, will still be involved with ensuring our success.

I joined Crest in June 2016 as a Senior Vice Principal with over 20 years experience in education. I am stepping up to the role of Acting Headteacher at an exciting time in the school’s history. In October 2016 the school was graded good in all areas by Ofsted. This was followed by Crest’s best A level and GCSE results to date which has seen the Academy rise to fourth in the borough for Progress 8 – an exceptional achievement.

As the Acting Headteacher I am firmly committed to guaranteeing the highest quality of education  and teaching and learning for all. All of our teachers and leaders expect the highest standards from all involved in the academy. They are highly skilled experts in their field who understand what is  required to guarantee that every student achieves their greatest outcomes, regardless of their starting points.

It is my role to secure the continued success of the Crest Academy, it’s students and staff. Our aim is to bring the school values to life, enabling all of our students to achieve their goals and be their very best. In addition, I can assure you that the safeguarding of all our students is a priority.

Our vision to ensure every student will be ready for university and every student will be a leader remains a focus alongside an absolute commitment to the academy’s core values of:

  • Pride and Professionalism
  • Relationships
  • Aspirations
  • Integrity
  • Social justice
  • Empowerment and accountability

Again, I welcome you to the Academy and invite you  to see for yourself our incredible learning environment. Please contact Janet Gray on thecrestacademyadmin@e-act.org.uk if you would like to make an appointment to visit.

I look forward to working with you and your son or daughter to ensure the Crest Academy’s continued success.

Cristalina Fernandes
